After the Fire
After the fire was put out, crews immediately started to fix the city. The Library of Congress was burned up, so the government bought Thomas Jefferson's personal library to replace it. The White House was repaired, and to this day there are marks from the fire on some of the stone inside. The Capitol was also rebuilt, although it was not finished before the fire so they just finished building it after.
